The scope

What We Prepare and File

Routine tax compliance for a company in Indonesia, month after month and at year end, run by the same team that knows your books.

Tax returns are only as good as the ledger behind them. When the books are behind or unreconciled, the return either waits or gets filed on numbers nobody has checked. We prepare tax from a closed, reconciled file, so the figures on the return can be traced back to transactions in Xero.

SPT Masa. The periodic returns for each tax type that applies to your business, prepared, reviewed and filed every period.

SPT Tahunan. The annual corporate income tax return, prepared from the year-end figures in your books.

PPh 21. Employee income tax withholding, calculated from payroll and reported each period. If we also run your payroll, this comes straight from the same calculation.

PPh 23 and PPh 4(2). Withholding on payments to suppliers and other parties, identified from your bills and recorded against the right transactions.

PPN and e-Faktur. Output and input VAT for businesses registered for VAT, with tax invoices issued and matched to sales and purchases.

e-Bupot. Withholding slips prepared and issued for the withholding you make, so your counterparties receive what they need.

Filing through Coretax. Returns submitted through Coretax, with the payment details prepared for each amount due.

Your money stays with you. We prepare the payment details for each tax due. You pay from your own bank account. We never hold client funds and never move money on your behalf.

Every period

The Monthly Cycle

Each month follows the same four steps, so tax work starts from closed books rather than from a scramble at the end of the period.

One

Close the books

Bank accounts reconciled, bills and sales invoices recorded, and the period closed in Xero so the numbers stop moving.

Two

Prepare the returns

Withholding and VAT worked out from the closed period, e-Faktur and e-Bupot prepared, and every figure tied back to the ledger.

Three

Your review

You receive a summary of what is due and why. Questions are answered before anything is filed, and you approve it.

Four

Pay and file

You pay the amounts due from your own bank using the payment details we prepare. We file through Coretax and keep the confirmations on record.

The same people handle your file each month. When something changes, such as a new supplier type, a new income stream or a new regulation, they notice it because they already know what normal looks like for your business.

Year end

The Annual Return

The SPT Tahunan is prepared from twelve months of closed periods, not from a year rebuilt in a hurry.

Because the monthly returns and the books have been reconciled all year, the annual return starts from figures that already agree with each other. The work at year end is the work the annual return actually needs: the fiscal adjustments, the reconciliation between commercial and fiscal profit, and the supporting schedules.

Year-end figures from your books. The financial statements the return is based on come from the same Xero file, closed and locked.

Fiscal reconciliation. The differences between accounting profit and taxable profit identified and documented.

Monthly returns agreed to the year. What was reported each period checked against the annual totals before the return is filed.

Audited accounts where required. If your company needs an audit, an independent public accounting firm (KAP) performs it. We prepare the records the auditor works from and use the audited figures for the return.

Outside routine compliance

Anything beyond routine monthly and annual compliance, such as a tax audit (pemeriksaan), a letter from the tax office that needs a formal response, or an objection, is discussed with you when it arises and scoped on its own.

The ledger

Working From Books in Xero

Xero holds the transactions. Coretax receives the returns. Our team connects the two and keeps the trail between them.

Two Logiframe colleagues reviewing figures on a tablet in front of the Xero sign.

Tax codes are set up in Xero so that VAT and withholding are recorded as transactions are entered, not reconstructed at the end of the month. Bills that carry withholding are flagged when they are coded. Sales that need a tax invoice are matched to e-Faktur. By the time a period closes, the tax figures are already in the ledger.

Xero holds

  • Sales and purchase transactions, coded with the right tax treatment
  • Bank reconciliations and the closed period
  • Tax liability accounts that agree to what was filed
  • The audit trail behind every figure on a return

Coretax holds

  • The returns as filed, SPT Masa and SPT Tahunan
  • Tax invoices issued through e-Faktur
  • Withholding slips issued through e-Bupot
  • Confirmations of filing and payment

If we already keep your books, tax outsourcing adds the preparation and filing on top. If your own team keeps the books in Xero, we start with a review of the file so we know what we are filing from. See accounting outsourcing for the bookkeeping side.

Boundaries

Who Does What

Clear lines make the monthly rhythm work. This is how the responsibilities divide between our team and yours.

We do

  • Prepare SPT Masa and SPT Tahunan from your books in Xero
  • Calculate PPh 21, PPh 23, PPh 4(2) and PPN for each period
  • Prepare e-Faktur tax invoices and e-Bupot withholding slips
  • File returns through Coretax once you have approved them
  • Prepare the payment details for each amount due
  • Tell you in writing when something needs your attention

We do not

  • Hold client funds, or pay tax from our accounts on your behalf. You pay from your own bank
  • Hold signing authority or move money in any of your accounts
  • Act as your auditor. A statutory audit is performed by an independent public accounting firm (KAP)
  • File anything you have not reviewed and approved

How we quote

How Tax Outsourcing Is Quoted

Quoted after a short review of your file. The work depends on your business, not on a standard rate card.

What we look at when sizing a tax engagement
DriverWhy it matters
Tax types Which returns apply to your business. A company registered for VAT with regular withholding has more to prepare each period than one without.
Transaction volume The number of sales invoices, bills and withholding transactions behind each return.
Entity count Each company files its own returns and is scoped on its own.
Condition of the books Whether the books are current and reconciled, or need catching up before tax can be prepared from them.

Books behind? Tax can only be prepared from books that are up to date. If yours are not, we bring them current first with a catch-up and clean-up, quoted separately.

Questions

Tax Outsourcing, Answered

Do you prepare and file our tax returns?
Yes. Our team prepares your monthly SPT Masa and your annual SPT Tahunan from your books in Xero and files them through Coretax after you have reviewed and approved them.
Which taxes does the service cover?
Routine company tax compliance: PPh 21, PPh 23, PPh 4(2), PPN with e-Faktur, withholding slips through e-Bupot, the periodic SPT Masa and the annual SPT Tahunan. Which of these apply depends on your business, and we confirm the list with you during onboarding.
Do you pay the tax on our behalf?
No. We prepare the payment details for each amount due, and you pay from your own bank account. We never hold client funds or move money on your behalf.
Do we need to use Xero?
We prepare tax from books kept in Xero, because that is where our team works and where the audit trail behind each return lives. If you are on another system today, we can discuss a move to Xero as part of the engagement.
Can you prepare our tax if our own team keeps the books?
Yes, if the books are kept in Xero and are current. We start with a review of the file so we know what we are filing from, and we agree with your team when each period is closed and ready.
Are you our auditor?
No. If your company needs a statutory audit, an independent public accounting firm (KAP) performs it. We prepare the records the auditor works from and use the audited figures for the annual return.
What happens if we receive a letter from the tax office?
Send it to us as soon as it arrives. We tell you what it asks for and what the records show. Anything beyond routine compliance, such as a tax audit or an objection, is discussed with you and scoped on its own.
How is the service quoted?
After a short review of your file. The quote depends on which tax types apply to your business, the transaction volume behind each return, the number of entities and the condition of the books.
